The Tri-Annual Research Girl Scientific Mentorship Program

NOTE: The Summer 2025 application is closed.

The Research Girl, Inc. STEM Research Mentorship Program is designed to empower aspiring researchers by connecting them with experienced student researchers and research scientists. This program offers personalized guidance, professional development opportunities, and invaluable insights into research practices. Through 1:1 mentorship, mentees gain access to resources, advice, and support to help them achieve their academic and career goals in science. Whether you're just starting out or looking to advance your skills, our mentorship program is here to help you succeed. Applications are open thrice yearly—don't miss your chance to grow and thrive with Research Girl, Inc.!

Our Summer 2025 cohort will run from May to August, and connect scientific professionals from esteemed institutions to STEM students across the country and the world. Mentors commit one hour per week per mentee to help guide their students in scientific research. In their applications, mentees should detail their goals for mentorship. Examples of these goals can include refining research skills, practicing meta-analyses and literature reviews, improving resumes, applying for research positions, applying for undergrad or grad school, or conducting independent research. You get to choose what you and your mentor focus on for the duration of the program!

Ensuring a Safe and Supportive Mentorship Experience

At Research Girl, Inc., the safety and well-being of our participants is our top priority.

To maintain a secure environment, we charge a $25 membership fee for mentees who are admitted, which helps cover essential safety measures, including comprehensive background checks for all mentors. This ensures that every mentor in our program meets the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. By prioritizing safety, we aim to foster a supportive and trustworthy space where mentees can confidently grow and thrive under the guidance of experienced mentors.

If you need financial assistance for the membership fee, there are scholarships available. Please email mentorship@researchgirl.org for more information.
